Social Mobility
The Keith Howard Foundation is proud to support projects in the area of Social Mobility
Below are examples of funding projects that we are supporting or have supported in the past. We will add more projects on a continued basis.
Nell Bank Charitable Trust
The Nell Bank Charitable Trust is the independent charity which runs the Nell Bank Outdoor Education Centre in Ilkley. They welcomed over 23,000 children last year with the aim to foster a love and respect of the outdoors in each of them. Through their exciting, safe and curriculum linked day and residential outdoor programmes, they provide magical experiences that they hope will stay with them for many years to come.
The Keith Howard Foundation provides invaluable support for our Assisted Places Scheme, which ensures children who would otherwise not be able to visit Nell Bank have the opportunity to do so. The scheme reflects the challenging financial landscape faced by families, schools and community groups and is designed to remove barriers to participation.

Life Education
Coram Life Education is a national children's charity that supports schools' Wellbeing and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE). Within this umbrella organisation, Life Education Bradford is established as an independent charitable company, and has been helping generations of children throughout Bradford and West Yorkshire for over thirty years.
We use dynamic teaching strategies (including drama) and resources within a framework of a fully developed whole-school approach to behaviour, safety and achievement, which also includes a comprehensive online PSHE scheme of work, to support schools' wellbeing and PSHE education for children aged 3 -11 (SCARF).
The Keith Howard Foundation (previously known as The Emerald Foundation) have been a valued supporter and have generously helped us to face difficult financial challenges, particularly over the last few years. We are forever grateful for their support to sustain our education service to children across our community.
Our work enables so many pupils to learn vital life skills and make healthy choices; in an average school year we will deliver our programmes to approx. 26,000 children in Bradford, Calderdale, and surrounding areas. Parents who themselves enjoyed and benefited from Life Education are now finding that their own children are coming through the Life Education experience - including meeting our Life Education mascot, Harold the giraffe - we hope our work will continue for generations to come!
